Mission statement: Healing the Children provides needed quality medical care for underserved children throughout the world and advances medical skills and resources in developing countries.

Code of Ethics

Principles: 

Non-maleficence: Do no harm. All our participants are committed to providing safe and appropriate care that prioritises the patient’s well-being.

 

Respect: We strive to understand and respect the cultural beliefs, values, and practices of the communities we serve. This ensures culturally sensitive care that avoids unintentional offence and builds trust with patients.

 

Professionalism: Participants are expected to maintain professionalism at all times, whether in clinical or non-clinical settings, demonstrating respect, integrity, and accountability in all interactions. 

 

Community Engagement: We actively involve local communities and healthcare services in planning and implementing our medical programs. This ensures our programs address their specific needs, priorities, and build sustainable solutions.

Conflict of Interest

Definition 
A conflict of interest occurs when an individual’s personal interests, or the interests of their family or associates, may interfere or appear to interfere with the interests of Healing the Children Texas.

Duty to Disclose
Anyone with a potential conflict must disclose it in writing to the HTCTX Board or at the relevant meeting before any related discussion or decision.
