Healing the Children is a nonprofit organization committed to providing free, life-changing medical treatment to children who would otherwise go without care. For over 40 years, we have brought together dedicated volunteer doctors, nurses, and medical staff to serve children across the globe with complex but treatable health conditions.
Each year, one of our most impactful missions takes place in Neiva, Colombia, where a specialized team travels to perform reconstructive surgeries for children born with cleft lips, cleft palates, clubfoot, and other correctable conditions. These procedures not only improve health and function, but also give children the chance to thrive socially and emotionally.
At Healing the Children, we believe that every child deserves access to quality medical care—regardless of geography, background, or economic status. Our goal is not only to heal, but to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity to the lives of the children and families we serve.

ROBERTO FAJARDO
Director of Healing the Children Texas
Roberto Fajardo leads Healing the Children Texas with dedication and compassion. Under his leadership, the chapter has expanded its reach, especially through annual medical missions to Colombia. Roberto is committed to ensuring that children receive life-changing surgical care, while also building strong partnerships with medical volunteers and local communities.
DANIEL PEREZ
DDS, MS, FACS
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Daniel Perez is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with advanced training in orthognathic and TMJ surgery. Originally from Costa Rica, he completed his specialty training in Colombia and a prestigious fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
With over 42 peer-reviewed publications and multiple national awards for clinical excellence, Dr. Perez combines academic leadership with extensive surgical experience. His clinical focus includes TMJ disorders, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, and reconstructive surgery. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in advanced TMJ management and total joint replacement.
