NEIVA MISSION

Neiva, Colombia
Where Healing Begins and Hope is Restored

Upcoming: May 14-20, 2026

ABOUT THE TRIP

Healing the Children is a nonprofit organization committed to providing free, life-changing medical treatment to children who would otherwise go without care. For over 40 years, we have brought together dedicated volunteer doctors, nurses, and medical staff to serve children across the globe with complex but treatable health conditions.

Each year, one of our most impactful missions takes place in Neiva, Colombia, where a specialized team travels to perform reconstructive surgeries for children born with cleft lips, cleft palates, clubfoot, and other correctable conditions. These procedures not only improve health and function, but also give children the chance to thrive socially and emotionally.

César David Cedeño Rojas

A boy who was born with a condition called cleft lip and cleft palate. He has been lovingly raised by his grandmother — a wonderful woman who dedicated much of her life to him, to his health, and to giving him the chance for a better quality of life.

Thanks to the Healing the Children program, which has spent 30 years changing lives in the Huila region, César underwent several surgical procedures that improved his health and appearance.

Over the years, César has overcome every challenge life has brought him. He recently graduated with a degree in natural sciences and environmental education from the University of Tolima and hopes to join the public education system to inspire others with his story of perseverance and success.

César’s story is one of learning and perseverance — a true example for those facing similar challenges. No condition is an obstacle to achieving your dreams.
