UIWSOM HTCTX Student Organization

Meet the Team

President
Justin Lamontagne
"As President of the Healing the Children Texas Student Organization, I aim to expand awareness of our mission, increase student engagement at UIWSOM, and further our impact by serving underserved and vulnerable children throughout San Antonio and South Texas."

Vice-president
Nethra Giri
"I joined HTC because I deeply resonate with its mission to help underserved children across the globe access essential medical care and to support healthcare providers with the resources, skills, and supplies they need. My initial involvement with the HTC fundraiser team for the golf tournament allowed me to see firsthand how meaningful and rewarding it is to raise funds that directly strengthen the organization’s impact."

Treasurer
Larissa Garza
"I am currently an OMS-II with an interest in family medicine and a passion for integrating clinical care with meaningful community engagement. As an HTC officer, and beyond, I hope to partner with other nonprofit organizations I have worked with to help Healing the Children Texas grow and make an even greater impact."

Secretary
Golnoosh Ronasi
"I joined Healing the Children because its mission to provide equitable medical access to underserved children strongly aligns with my values and aspirations as a future physician. I hope to care for patients facing financial hardship or limited access to medical resources while ensuring they feel seen, supported, and valued. Through my involvement with HTC, I strive to give back meaningfully to this community and the children it serves."

Co-Social Chair
Gabrielle Nguyen
"I am the Social Chair and an OMS-II at UIWSOM, where I also serve as a student ambassador and co-social chair for the Student Government Association. My previous experience includes serving as a brand ambassador for The Princeton Review and acting as event planner for the Southeast Asian Association at the University of Oklahoma. I joined Healing the Children because I admire the mission of this organization and wanted to contribute my time and energy to positively impacting the community."

Co-Social Chair
Layan Ali-Hasan
“For me, HTC is an organization that I am excited to be a part of because I love giving back and contributing to something that brings smiles to others. I am excited to grow through this experience and carry what I learn into the way I care for and connect with my future patients.”
